The oceans are a masterpiece that we have the privilege of exploring and benefiting from, they do not belong to us though. We should have been thoughtful and careful caretakers. Cousteau understood how precious they were. Kendra Recinos

On March 18, 1992, Capt. Cousteau brought a camera crew to the Missouri Botanical Garden to interview my boss, Dr. Peter Raven. I was PR director, so I was there to support and assist Raven during the process. About 4pm, things wrapped up. Capt. Cousteau had three people in his crew, they had a 6:30 flight and I had a minivan. I had to dump my kids little league gear with a co-worker, but I got the four of them and their gear into the Voyager. I was thrilled -- during the mid sixties with assassinations, Vietnam and domestic mayhem -- Capt. Cousteau was a hero to me. I would have him for an hour sitting right next to me! We headed out into traffic and, within just a couple of minutes... Capt. Cousteau was fast asleep in his seat. I did not have the heart to awaken him. I quietly drove the entourage to the airport while he gently snored beside me. He did offer this to me before he fell asleep: "sharing the world of the sea is a gift that gives much today, but gives much more to tomorrow." I'll never forget that day when I watched Cousteau dream. Douglas Arnold

Congratulations... You always try to keep the Cousteau's memory..! David Araujo

I fell in love with the Captain's message at age 6, and went on to learn French and become a science educator because of him. I miss his wonderful smile, but mostly his message that our water is our life! Bonnie Keller

Bon anniversaire mon Commandant… Frédéric Bianquis

Great work, Keep it all up as it is so needed! Jim Engel

- In memory of Mr. Jacques Cousteau - Jacques, many years ago I have very enjoyed the tales that you showed us about the sea. You did a very good job. May your spirit live forever. Henk Bakker

Jacques Cousteau was and still is one of my childhood heroes. Natasha Mifsud

Some people are born into this world and some are born of it. JFC Jack Collins

Very interested in your life expeditions of the water. Natalie Abraham

Thank you Jacques-Yves Cousteau! You exuded compassion, wonder, and an untenable curiosity. I miss you and your calm, empathetic voice for creatures, spaces, and experiences. A pier to none, I applaud your ferocity for life! Thanks for showing us how it can be done! John Beaumont

i like your expeditions Aditya Upreti

I visited my old dad some weeks ago in sweden. Did´nt know what to buy to him, when I saw a magazine about Jac and bought it. My dad fell a tear and said I have his book, but I can not find it. My dad made his own breathing mask when I was just a kid. And I saw him dive with it. This was a good present to give. Hope all will go well with the restoration of Calypso ! Per Ingemar Stahl

I met Jacques years ago in Massachusetts when he lectured. Sheila Sporkin-Edel
