Calypso’s last arrangements to leave the Piriou facilities
The Company Scales is setting up the centipede, a 200 wheel gear that will allow the Calypso its cradle to be hoisted and driven to the edge of the dock. This operation should be done by Friday, 04th March.
The cradle will then be consolidated and the containers will be organized. During its transportation the vessel will be fully protected by a tarpaulin during its transportation. This work should take between 2 and 3 weeks.
The team is placing elements in order to weigh the Calypso and its cradle and determine the center of gravity for its transfers by cranes on the ship.
On the morning of March 3, the scale read 111 tons.
The information will be given online as according to the program’s progression.
